Monday

So last week I felt like I was just sitting around, kind of wasting time, though busy. This week, I'm wondering where I'm going to find the time to do all the things that I have to do. And because it's Thanksgiving and are out on break on Wednesday, I decided not have regular youth groups this week. Hello, that should free up hours! I guess it doesn't help that Thursday is Thanksgiving, which means a short work week and I'm "preaching" this Sunday. Just a little bit of extra stress...which I can handle but still, not enough hours this week.

I've been thinking about what I'm thankful for and how I show that thankfulness...to God and to people. So, I'm gonna ask you...how do you show your thankfulness to God and to people? Leave a comment, I promise I'll check!

I have been thinking a lot about thankfulness in connection to sin. Seems odd.

But I think that what I have come up with is that if we are living and I mean living not just speaking a life of thankfulness then we will not be living a life of sin.

What I mean is this... If we are truly thankful for where we are at, what we have and who we are then the rest will not happen.

If we are thankful for where we are in life then we will not go around filled with jealousy and bitterness.

If we are satisfied and thankful for what we have then we will not be lusting after what we don't.

And if we are thankful for who we are, then we will not need to waist energy on comparing ourselves to others and putting them down in order to build ourselves up.

You see where I am going with this. So by living a life of thankfulness we can avoid many of the temptations of sin and thus live a life that is honoring to God.

Thankfulness = Due worship
